Cinar Onat - DJ FuZion - RIP

Cinar Onat aka DJ FuZion passed away last week in Toronto. He was 29 and had a rare illness called HLH.

He was music director and host of the NuBeatz program at bpm:tv from 2001 until a year ago. He was very well liked by the viewers for his music selections and sense of humour. Many people will have seen him on that channel introducing the latest dance videos, or interviewing a long list of well known DJs and music producers. Unfortunately and for unknown reasons Cinar and a number of other people lost their jobs at bpm:tv last year, and many viewers were stunned at Cinar's departure from the channel.

Cinar put out a good commercial DJ mix CD "Trance Euro Express" (BMG) in 2002, it's still in the stores. More recently he switched to house.

Dj Fusion was one of the first Trance sets I ever downloaded. Napster days, wow I think I still have it. I will have a listen to it in memory of a trance icon. Enjoy that perfect sound upstairs.

Here is a short video of Cinar from his NuBeatz program in mid-2003 doing a funny "intro" segment, lugging his DJ bag of records, and the first bit of the program.
