yea, i'd rate it around a step below an Ecler (which is a step below a Rane in my mind) and comparable to a Vestax 07, although each have features that the other doesn't have. I prefer the pioneer to the 07 right now (only used it for 2 days though). Can't really comment on sound quality differences cause my experience with each have been in totally different settings...

This looks like a nice mixer, I've seen it online for approximately 370 dollars now, I'm thinking of picking it up too. What other mixers are there that are comparable, in the 500 dollar price range?
I saw Akeel's ecler post for the NUO 4, I think. I might hold out for that unless I find something cheaper and decent. Where did you get the mixer? |

^^You won't be disappointed with the ecler, i got a nuo5, sound quality is awesome, nice build, Huge EQ knobs and nice layout... Although the 707 seems like great value, i liked the feel of it in the store, but i can't attest do its sound quality though as i just played with it in the store

if you're looking for a full-on mixing mixer and have no interest in scratching, I'd probably hold off on it since it is primarily a scratch mixer. As far as comparable scratch mixers for $500, I don't think there are any - it's essentially a $1000 mixer that is being discontinued so they dropped the price drastically for clearance. Like I said, the closest in quality and features is probably a Vestax 07 with the Ecler Hak series and the Rane TM56 being similar styles but higher quality.
For a home mixer, I think the 707 is perfect. For a performing mixer, you'll defintiely be getting better sound quality on a Rane (and probably ecler). It's the standard Pioneer mixer sound quality so it pretty much sounds like a DJM500 or 600 meaning it's got a good quality of sound on a big system but has a tendancy to crap out a bit a super-high volumes. |

No way. I don't know anyone who has one so unfortunately, I can't try it out. All the guys i know have either the 05, 06, 54 and 56's. I'm dying to try one out though. I really like the feel of the 56... I'll have to check it out at tom lee. You play at tokyo lounge every sunday? Do you cut? |

Long & McQuade sells the Ecler's too and they're usually pretty good about letting you demo em... Last edited by dj_soo; Apr 15, 05 at 02:06 PM. |
