Real player.. WTF?
What happened? Now when I listen to a sound clip (say from a record store site), instead of the file opening in my little real player, it opens this full page 'webpage' with a little play arrow to play the clip?! It's like it's built itself into internet explorer! What a pain in the ass to not only click on the link to download, but now I also have to click play?
I used to be able to scroll websites with the clip playing in real player in the back ground, but not anymore! When I click on the back button when it's on that real player page, ofcourse ot goes back to the page I was viewing before and stops the clip!?! WTF is that? Any help on how to get rid of this thing? |

Suppose. But much like Dave-the-other, I've done perfectly fine without it on my comp for the past near-decade....
edit: This is also why I hate proprietary file formats. Probably only one I can stand is mp3, but that's because it's so common and there are a whole bunch of different programs that support it under various different platforms. Even wmv pisses me off, but that's mainly because nobody's really made a decent wmv plugin for rhythmbox. |
