Sennheiser HD25?

Well since I broke my Sony MDR-500 gehtto cans, I've decieded to upgrade to the HD25. What do y'all think of them? I will be mainly using them to monitor the audio of my daw when I can't have it up. How are they to mix on? Sould I buy them from here or go to a local store?

The word on the street is that they're very good. They also last longer than any Sony ones.

On tranceaddict.com in the dj forum they talk about headphones a lot, and everyone who has HD 25 likes them a lot.

But they're expensive, several people have said the Sony 7506 is similar quality but less cash.

People say they have very good isolation from external noise which is what you want when DJing in a noisy place. Although the cups just sit on top of the ear and don't surround it, so I wonder how they can isolate so well.

from what i hear, just like technics, they isolate by covering just over the ear, and are LOUD!

i got hd280 pros and i've never had a problem, nice isolation, realistic sound, great for dj'ing. It takes 100s of hours of playtime to break em in, then they sound real good
