if anyone wants the album 'sonogram' from One Be Lo (binary star) i got a link i upped for a buddy/still good for 20+ downloads, dies in 6days
if you want it send me a PM or reply here one of the best discs ive heard all year "An effort as thoughtful and well-rounded as any the independent circuit may well produce this year." Chairman Mao, XXL (March 2005) "Should be one of the indie rap world's finest no-nonsense records of the year." Brian Coleman, Scratch (March/April 2005) "Magnificent. One Be Lo is the kind of instantly endearing rapper fans hear for the first time and swear they've been supporting their entire lives." Nathan Rabin, The Onion (February 9, 2005) "Inventive love songs, street anthems and introspective numbers are all present here. An album good enough to make even the legendary Pete Rock proud." AllHipHop.com One Be Lo (aka One Man Army) has enjoyed respect and admiration on the underground hip hop circuit for years. Now, with his debut LP, he's not only drawing rave reviews, but the attention of magazines including Vibe, XXL, Spin, XLR8R, Scratch, CMJ Monthly, and Black Book, and is also being featured on Okayplayer.com, as artist of the day on Spin.com, and as a member of URB's prestigious NEXT 100 for 2005. Watch as One Be Lo leads a rebirth of an underground hip hop movement that does more than simply follow the lead of the watered-down mainstream. listen to it, then go buy it |

Ohmega Watts "The Find" (Ubiquity Records). Harkens back to the Golden era, while still sounding fresh. Dope beats, excellent rhymes & lyrical content. My favorite hip hop album of 2005.
Also loving J-Live these days, just picked up the 12" of 'Bosoms'... great stuff. some favorites from 'back in the day'.... Big Daddy Kane: Raw, Ain't No Half Steppin', Long Live The Kane Chubb Rock: anything, esp. Treat Em Right Kool G Rap & DJ Polo: Poison, Road To The Riches, Streets Of New York Leaders Of The New School: anything esp. PTA Lords Of The Underground: Funkychild, Here Come the Lords, etc EPMD: So Watcha Sayin, It's My Thing, You Gots To Chill Eric B & Rakim: Juice, Microphone Fiend, Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em Last edited by Wood; Jan 03, 06 at 08:01 PM. |
