You know those times when everyone is looking to see who's on stage and what's being done up there? Everyone stops and says "who is that?" The answer is often skylab2000.

skylab2000 is not a DJ or a 'laptop' band. This is a 100% LIVE electronic music performance. With a full set of synths, samplers, a mixer and a computer onstage, a skylab2000 show is a unique experience. This music is made live, with live vocals, changing to the crowds needs and creating a ride to remember.

Where did it start? Since 1994, Dennis Barton has been traveling city to city as skylab2000 playing his brand of hard hitting dance music. Hard house, acid breaks, progressive, techno, and a little bit of trance are part of the skylab2000 sound.

With a father from Detroit and mother from Belgium, he's got dance music in his blood. Growing up in New York in disco's heyday, then moving to the UK and experiencing it's early rave scene, sealed his fate as a electronic music composer.

Los Angeles is now home base, but it's rare to find skylab2000 at home. The world is his living room, where most weekends he's off playing an event. Worldwide, skylab2000 has played Japan, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Russia, Puerto Rico, Montreal, Canada, Molvania, Mexico and more. Here at home, skylab2000 has played in 45 of the 50 states including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, Las Vegas, Anchorage and so many more.

Playing live is the main focus, but this energy is also recorded and released on CD or vinyl. The US release of 'Auburn' included the first ever remix by LA's Taylor. In the UK, Journeys by DJ released alternate UK mixes, getting a huge reaction, including a prestigious leading spot on Pete Tong's BBC Radio One Essential Selection. Auburn has been played heavily by DJs such as Sasha, Carl Cox, Keoki and Pete Tong.

On the seminal mp3.com music site, two skylab2000 tracks became the number one most downloaded songs overall. On that site alone, skylab2000 songs clocked just under one million downloads!

For the last 4 1/2 years J.D. Funk has been working non stop to prove to people why most the people he works with consider him one of the hardest working upcomming Dj's. Since stepping into the Electronic Scene J.D. has many acomplishments under his belt and has always tried to keep himself a step ahead of the pack, with many generes under his disposal and his arsonal of turntable tricks there is no telling what to expect when J.D. is on the decks.

No stranger to music, as a drummer in Junior High and Highschool and then as a Mobile and Club Dj from the age of 17-19 J.D.'s love and respect for all types of music is what has really put him a step ahead of your normal Dj. Starting his carrer as a Funky Breaks Dj and then fine tuning his skills and adding Nu-School Breaks, Funky House, Hardhouse, NrG, DnB, Rock and Hip-Hop now days there is just no telling what J.D. will pull out of his bags a tricks, also with tons of scratching tricks and turntable tricks it really makes out for one crowed pleasing performance.

Knowen by many as a crowed pleasure, J.D.'s spark and drive to be one step ahead has really made him stand out in the Djing industry. J.D. has played places like Wa,Or,Ca,NC,NYC and has played shows with the likes of Dj Irene, Omar Santana, Exodus, Atomic Babies, Dj Swamp, Patrick DSP, Dj Venom, Louis Osbourne, vicious Vic, Frankie Bones to name just a few, and being affiliated with some of the biggest promoters in Seattle and other places, including being the first Breaks dj on Klubstompers being added to Sinful Productions out of Sea and added to two agencys Adrenaline Am in NYC and Darkland Agency in the UK. and also Darkbeat Creations out of NC.

2005 has already proven to be a busy year playing shows along with releasing his newest CD entitled "The 1st Dimension" wich is 29 tracks filled with Nu-School Breaks,Funky Breaks,Funky House, Uk Hardhouse,NrG,Rock and Hip-Hop the cd also includes J.D.'s orginal production work including his lastest track Houston, You can expect to see alot more of J.D. Funk as he continues to work hard to please croweds wherever he plays as well as working on more of his orginal tracks that he hopes will catch a labels eye and he can get put out on vinyl.
