BEP and james brown

im not really sure how to feel about this song. i think the new peas are too cheesy, but this track is something different.
they hooked up with the godfather to make a traditional james song, but with a 2005 feel. this songs serious.
i wish more people would colab with the godfather....
i hope he got paid at least 5.4 million dollars to do this song.

I've been caining this song like mad ever since I picked up the CD. I love it specifically for that old skool funk sound injected with a "2005 feel" as you put it.

One of my favs for sure.

did you go to the james brown concert last year? the guys almost 80 and he rocked it like he was 25. hes a machine.

there's nothing wrong with this song besides fergie. i have a feeling that if they had put this song out before their first album with fergie you wouldnt have anything to say about this song.

fergie or no, i think it's a pretty half-hearted attempt at capturing the vibe of a JB's original. I'm a HUGE James Brown fan and a avid collector of funk vinyl... but this tune does NOT make it for me. Take away Fergie and it's just an average boring tune, instead of out-and-out sucking.

In no way was I comparing the song to JB. It's just good to see groups like the BEP making attempts at incorporating that type of funk into new material.

I remember.. I remember it had pretty dope production, and pretty weak MCing. Like all their music. They used to be somewhat raw sounding and unique, but they were never world beaters. Now what little edge they had has been sanded off.
