Code is an unknown quantity at this point
what program are you using? can you run CPU hungry plug-ins? or do you want to keep it light? Mac or PC? whats are you EQing? what type of music?

I use about 4 different ones depending on what I'm using it on. Most channel strips are good enough, but you could pick up a Waves Suite (Gold, Platinum, what ever) pretty easily.

^^^ Agreed...... Best EQ would hands down be the "Apex Tube EQ" you can get it at L&M I'm pretty sure. Great out board piece. You won't need any other EQ

Well ladies, I'm not talking about outboard gear here. I'm strictly onboard. So what's the best plugin?

Haha! hardware junkie! (jealous)

For the poor and starving artists who can't afford hardware, I'd recommend the Waves EQ bundle. It has all your basic options, band, highpass, low shelf, high shelf. Up to 10 bands too. Doesnt gobble up too much CPU, simple interface.

not a fan of boosting with the waves stuff. A bit thin sounding when u do that. Great for cutting.

Really? Maybe thin = accurate.

On a sidenote, boosting is generally not recommended. Think of a scupture... you generally start with a big ugly mass of rock and chisel off what you dont want, not the other way around.

Can anyone else comment on this? Im curious now. I thought Waves EQ was top notch

^^You can boost your highs and lows. The waves stuff doesn't just sound as phat as say the URS FullTec Program EQ.
