COLLISION EP 1 - Information/Review
Collision, a new label from the UK that merges both legendary labels Botchit Breaks & Mechanoise. A hard hitting label focused on the dancefloor. If you're familiar with either label you'll know some of the Artists involved. This time around we've got SOTO, R-Kidz & Noise, Digital Pimp and Atomic Hooligan.
Release Date: April 2002 First up SOTO's "Hold On" which was on Botchit Breaks 4, and featuring the sultry vocal talents of Amaziree with a heavy rhythm and bassline to die for, this is more a reworking then a remix. The essece of the original has not been lost with Amaziree's amazing vocal performance still intact and is given a more dance floor feel, done remixed by Nick Noize and R-Kids. Review - 7/10 Next up SOTO goes to work on R Kidz's & Noise "I Can't Stand It", delivering a really driving funk fueled epic track fusing Old school vocals and plenty of tasty edits. Once again aimed firmly at the dance floor this more than worthy remix hits its target smack bang in the face. Review - 6/10 The second piece of Vinyl from the Collision EP sees Digital Pimp's "Evolutionary Blue Print" reworked by Atomic Hooligan who capitalises on the brooding dirty funk of the original and add little sprinklings of house and hooliganisms to create another atomic bomb. Review - 8/10 And last but not least we have the Digital Pimp's remix of "In it Together" from the Botchit Breaks 4 Album. The boy's from Birmingham treat us to another slice of dark stepping funk complete with orchestral strings and piano breaksdowns to round off this extra ordinary package. Review - 8/10 Info from SOTO @ Botchit Breaks, Review by me. |
