its interesting that you say nobody but you gives a shit. When the album came out a couple months back the straight was all over it. They made it seem that everyone else was too. Most of the people I talk to that like the indie stuff praise this album. Sounds like really good rock and roll to me.

Obviously more people than me give a shit, or they wouldnt be selling many tickets to shows.
I more was referring to people in my social circles.. I've tried to introduce people to them and, with one exception, was just met with shrugs. Also posts I make about them tend to get little to no reaction, although this one is off to a better start. Lastly, I feel like they're often overlooked in the scenester sense of things. Now this is not at all surprising, and is even arguably a plus, but still a certain part of me wants to hear a huge buzz about their albums. Just for a month or something? Typically though, what you get are a bunch of A+++ reviews in magazines, and zero word of mouth hype, which leads to me feeling like I'm the only fan who doesn't work at spin or write for pitchfork. Hope I've explained myself better now, Mateo. Ryan, starting at Twin Cinema and working backwards would probably be a pretty good strategy. Their first album was esoteric enough that when I first bought it I thought I only liked 3 or 4 of the songs, and I put it down. It wasn't till I gave it another shot 6 months later that I realized I actually liked almost every song on the album, to the point of obsession. Last edited by Grapes; Nov 29, 05 at 02:03 PM. |
