Question about Raves??

So i stay in Scotland and we dont have much in the way of large scale outdoor raves as the electronic music scene in the uk is mainly club based.

The only similar events we have are festivals put on by big promotions companies with heavy sponsorship. Is this the same deal for Canadia/North American Raves or are they put on by a handfull of smaller club promoters in an effort to put on a large event or does one promoter run the whole show and contract different people to accommodate each stage?

i understand that each circumstance will be different each time but just wondering what the general set up is ?

Club Opus is the bomb there.

over here, there's a handful of smaller companies.....everyone has their own day jobs basically, no one currently "owns" the scene i suppose.

You won't find the huge scale you find over there...but you know what, sometimes the small halls rented out are just as fun. :)

I guess biggest event here would be apex, an outdoor party of what, 5000-7000 people in the summer. indoor massives can reach 4700 or so. smaller parties of a couple hundred are much more common.

usually at each show one promoter 'runs it and fills the stages, but at apex, for example, that's when each promoter throws its own stage.

Hopefully that's some insight.
