Mushroom Jazz

Has anyone else checked out DJ Mark Farina's work? It's some of the most chill music out there, in my opinon. I had a copy of Vol 1 until kharma decided it had to get jacked, but I think he's up to Volume 5 now. It's a slick blend of jazz, hip hop, old-school blues, and even a little funk all mixed electronic-style. The bassline grooves like nothing else, and almost seems to tell you a story throughout the album. This guy would sell out a massive just for the chill room experience, I bet. Check it out, and if anyone's got any of the newer volumes, I'd love to get a copy - future shop couldn't even order them in for me. Happy listening.

the mushroom jazz comps are good no doubt, and they've been a great introduction to downtempo beats for a lot of people... unfortunately for some, that's where their downtempo collection begins & ends. Personally i was a fan of the first couple but i don't think Farina's tastes have evolved too much with the times.

Fo sho! I've spent the past two days almost constantly checking out all of everyone's suggestions. Soooo much good music out there that I would have never discovered without this site. Thanks for your help! I can't wait to be able to afford to buy cds again.
