Record stores?
I was wondering if anybody new some good record shops in the lower mainland area that sell old rock records and 80's pop and metal and shit like that? The only one i know of is crazy bobs in langley and he doesnt have the greatest selection and he's a kooky bastard. Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Four places to check:
Scrape Records on broadway - http://www.scraperecords.com/ - all-rock and metal vinyl shop. Otis on Davie st - used record store extroidinaire - kinda small but todd the owner keeps changing up his selection a lot so lots of hidden gems can be found http://vancouver-webpages.com/biz/004/10.html or http://www.myspace.com/otismusic Vinyl Records on Hastings - One of the best organized used shops in town with a great selection - a little pricey - better for finding that one track you need *now* rather than spending hours digging http://www.vinylrecords.ca/ Scratch Records on Richards - Good prices and good selection - especially if you're more into the indy-rock type of styles not too well organized so you'll be in there flipping through crates a lot. http://cdn.scratchrecords.com/ All great places to dig. Boomtown is starting to order more rock records and 80s in too but a lot of them are on 45. Last edited by dj_soo; Feb 24, 06 at 06:13 PM. |

^yeah audiopile is nice, scored some great shit there. But for my money & digging time, OTIS is #1. It's undoubtedly the smallest (as in physical dimensions) record shop in Van, but you'll score some amazing pieces. Lucky for me it's on my walk to/from work & i've been going there for years so i get to see a lot of stuff before it hits the shelves... but it's a great place to dig for anyone, none the less.
