Anybody listen to reggaeton?
Since my stay here in Chile this style has really got a hold of me. Anyone else into it? Im guessing you have be somewhat latin to appreciate but you never know..

YES :( unfortunatly........
they play this god awfull song at my work(American Eagle) and they play the video with it too.... and these 5 y/o girls are rapping, and acting all gangster in it.... and the music is soo horrible.... .dalyn.

no, i have like 3 people i work with who speak spanish, and they have all translated the lyrics for me, and its kinda perverted.
cause in the video theres all these older male rappers, and this one like maybe 13 y/o singer rapper. and when the lyrics were translated to me, its all about how the older rappers do anything the little girls tells them to, cause shes soo gangster.... its kinda perverted.... and in their name it says the word "raggaeton" and that bothers me too.... .dalyn.

Yeah youre right, its very perverted. Thats what its all about. Latin girls love it and I happen to be latin too so it goes a bit further than just lyrics for me.
I personally dont find nothing sexier than chicks dancing and as most of you know, no women in the world dance better than latin ones. Reggaeton is just another form of rap, dancehall and reggae combined.

i can't have a bad judgement from hearing one song, but the fact thats it a like a 13 y/o and her posse of 12 and 13 y/o boys and girls annoyse me.... i bet if u heard something better i would be more into it. .dalyn.

the problem with reggaeton is that it's more like a SUB genre than a genre, quite literally every tune ive heard has the same snare placement. it's a wicked beat, but i couldn't listen to more than a few tunes with that beat before it would drive me nuts

reggaeton is huuge in any spanish country rite now .
its got a solid following here .. but not near as much where it should be . PPL like it here.. but I find I can only play 4-5 reggaeton tracks a nite max. like dabbler said .. it is kinda repetetive. .. ppl out here appreciate the beat more then the lyrics . If you`re wanting to get into production , I`d get a hold of Chris (DJ Goldenboy) .. hes the reggaeton king in Vancouver... runs 2 latin nights. Super nice guy too .. im sure he`d be glad to help u.

It's always on the big radio stations here in Toronto. I dunno, Daddy Yankee isn't that good. I'm still a bigger fan of Kardinal Offishal and Sean Paul... give me more of the Dancehall and Reggae. Not this other stuff... seen? :p

Here's my last crack at this post (maybe).
New reggeaton mix bla bla bla I guess if you dont speak spanish you will neither understand or feel it because this is the new rap and sadly it already has fallen in the hands off P Diddy or whatever he calls himself nowadays, shit even Paris Hilton is hitting this up. So...once it goes Ingles it will lose the latin spunk that made it what it is (in warmer parts of the world). Yeah, Sean Paul, Daddy Yankee and this other Guy are on 103.5FM fairly often. There's lots of Jamaicans and what-not living here so it's around quite a bit.
