Speed garage basslines!
Was out shopping for records the other day and was listening to assorted tech and funky house, but wasn't feelin the vibe. Then I played some speed garage track, the infamous " R.I.P Groove," by double 99. Well, it must have been a good pressing because the headphones were shaking when the Bass kicked in, unlike anything I had heard that day.
Looking back, I was into the speed garage scene, but it started going downhill real quick. Too many cheesy vocals and clicky percussion tracks. Classics like: Armand Van Heldens "Spin spin Sugar" and CJ Bollands " Sugar is Sweeter," had an edge, but were extremely played out.
God know, I don't want speed garage to re-imurge, but its nice to hear those phatt basslines now and again, especialy the original stuff.
