There is a free legal download of Acid Express available from Sony at http://acidplanet.com - good for messing around & learning things about remixing. Has a limited number of input source tracks (about 10). And only about a dozen output files (like Wavs & MP3s) can be made before the program de-activates. Not for making beats.
At the same site they give you a new "8pack" every week that contains 8 loops that can be used with Acid. Lots of other demo samples on the site that can be played with. Last edited by beedub; Mar 17, 06 at 01:23 PM. |

lots of really good hiphop producers use fruity loops , and i know people who have made pretty amazing shit on FL "chrischin" - what kind of beats are you looking to make , you need to state that personally I like Cubase, because of vst support so you can fuck around on thousands and thousands of sounds and use ex) Battery VST and import samples you have chopped up and tap them out on the keyboard Last edited by Goodfellow; Mar 17, 06 at 02:36 PM. |

"Ardour is a digital audio workstation. You can use it to record, edit and mix multi-track audio. Produce your own CD's. Mix video soundtracks. Experiment with new ideas about music and sound. Generate sound installations for 12 speaker gallery shows. Have Fun.
Ardour capabilities include: multichannel recording, non-linear, non-destructive region based editing with unlimited undo/redo, full automation support, a mixer whose capabilities rival high end hardware consoles, lots of plugins to warp, shift and shape your music, and controllable from hardware control surfaces at the same time as it syncs to timecode. If you've been looking for a tool similar to ProTools, Nuendo, Cubase SX, Digital Performer, Samplitude or Sequoia, you might have found it. " http://ardour.org/index.php I have'nt tried it yet myself. But it sure sounds snazzy for freeware ! |
