Need help with My Mackies SRM 450s

I just bought a pair of these delightful things and i have some questions for anyone that does own some mackies.


One of the speaker makes a bit loud of a hum.
The other one makes a small hum (fan like noise)


I have tried switching the cables and the output channel

SO i know it's not the channel or cable. It's the speaker.


The hum is not that bad i suppose, when everythign is turned off you can hear that one speaker hummm.

The speaker sounds great when turned on, no humm, or distortion whatsoever.

I purchased them 2 days ago (brand new). If anyone has any advice or knowledge/experience with this speaker it would be muchly appreciated.


Large price tag, i just wanna catch the potential problem before it happens. Should i take it back, and get it checked out? is it normal?
