Wow...these guys are frigin AWESOME...they are headlining Shambhala, so Ive been downloading a bunch of tunes...and its all good....I had "raw as fuck", but had not heard really anything else until now....

They've always produced some great tracks.. real anthems.

I saw them for the first time in Birmingham a week ago. They were good, but I didn't enjoy them as much as Evil 9. That's got to do more with the style I'm into these days, more than anything though.. I bet 5 years ago I would have been singing their praises. As it is, I'll mos def recommend them.. especially since dropping "Gold Digger" in the at random in the middle of a frenetic breaks set really set it off!

I see where you're coming from and actually agree. However even though I didn't really appreciate them as DJ's the last time I saw them they are great producers. "Here we go on a ride with the new Freestylers, Freestylers." I've definitely seen better DJ's (many locals could fill that bill) but they do have really good music.

As the bio says that I wrote for them, they are two of the most influential producers in Breakbeat, past and present. I for one am excited to have them coming back.

And being a Thursday, I'll make sure the show is damn affordable too.

i wana see the old freestylers!(ie full band, mc's et all) i heard there was lots of bad blood and the group will never get back together..what a shame.. regardless looking forward to the show @ sham

What are you talking about? They are touring right now.

And there are 12 of them in the band if I'm not mistaken. 12 people x 12 flights + hotel rooms = never going to happen.

Heh, so I just looked @ the credits on the Raw as F**k album and nowhere is Mad Doctor X, Tony Ayiotou, Clive Jenner, Joe Henson or MC Navigator and Tenor Fly listed. So That would make the last album with the original Freestylers Pressure Point (2001)

This 12 piece band.. does it consist of the original members listed above or are these new people? It doesnt say on the against the grain site, it refers to matt and aston as the Freesylers, mentions "band" but doesnt say who else is in the group... im confused

mmm ok so heres what i found out

Navigator and Tenor Fly no longer MC for the Freestlyers. I think the bad blood rumour had something to do with them.

Aston rarely tours with the "band"

and according to this link http://www.answers.com/topic/freestylers-1 the band members that appeared in pressure point and previous recordings are no longer part of the group

so my assumption is the instrumentalists and vocalists/MC’s are all new members to the band... im sure no one cares but it was bugging me lol

Raw As Fuck, by far their best album, just came out in 2004. That's back in the day for you?

I also just got into them and can't wait for Shambhala, though I'm much more excited to see Shpongle.

He was probably referring to back in the day as in when they were signed to Freskanova and had a different sound then the current one, different mcs. Etc. I personally think the Raw as F**K sound is played but that’s just my opinion.
