As I do love the breaks, but I dont know about many artists. For ME, I would have to say...

DJ Icey - This guy started me into breaks!
Chemical Brothers - These guys only made it better over the years!

but I think some heavy influences on breaks themselves would be

The Freestylers

plump djs
norman cook
Propellorheads
The Streets

My knowledge of Breakbeat artists isnt all that large. So thats just what I can think of!
