soulseek is great for checking shit out, but aways buy your music once you've found what you're after.
i'm not much for CDs but i've got a subscription to Virgin Digital which lets me stream and/or download as many songs as i want for less than $20 a month. It doesn't have the wealth of DJ sets, instrumentals & acapellas of Soulseek, but it's really fast and organized, covering pretty much every major/major independant album of the past century. there are a few notable exceptions but i've been very surprised at some of the obscure old school tracks i've dug up on there. probably not the best for current dance music, but great for music over all. |

I dont hear too many underground producers bitching about pirated material.
The ones who are, are not exactly in the underground anymore. Their sound is appealing to a bigger audience. when you look at bands like kmfdm, strapping, bile, anything really industrial. They're not aiming for the mainstream crowd and even say they dont care about piracy... But still are making a shit load of money. |
