Multitrack Recording Programs
I've been using Adobe Audition 2.0 for quite some time now, but I'm wondering what the alternatives are?
The only reason I am seeking an alternative is because Audition is quite heavy on the CPU especially while using rack-effects. I was looking into Sonar but don't know exactly how dedicated it is to recording and mastering since most of the highlights discuss loop and soft synth functionality. Any help? Thanks much. |

If you're trying to record a bunch of sources and then edit the hell out of them (ie, recording a live band, multiple takes live, then arrange into a finished track), you're better off with something like Protools, Sonar, Logic, Cubase, etc. If you're trying to record a few sources as a final recording (ie recording a DJ demo off vinyl and CDJ's or something), Wavelab is a good choice. Overall, I recommend Ableton Live, as it is very easy to learn, intuitive, and flexible enough to do pretty much anything you want it to. |

I recommend synpase orion platinum 6.
Its all I use now, besides sound forge and sometimes reason rewired. I think its a very underrated program. The workflow is easier and setup better than any recording/production app i've tried so far. giver a shot http://www.synapse-audio.com/ |
