The new Justin Timberlake track "Sexyback".....
Oooookay....
I had the horror of hearing his new track "Sexyback" on the radio today.... After absolutely loving his last album "Justified" and being SUPER excited for this new album.... I actually had to TURN OFF the radio because the debut track was SO TERRIBLE. Is it just me???? Am I crazy for not liking this tune?? I thought it was absolute garbage. Has anyone else heard it? |

It's like a really bad house record in a record store that you pick out and listen to, then you laugh after the first 32 bars and put it back on the shelf. Then you come back 6 months later and it's in the sale bin reduced to $3.99, and STILL nobody wants to buy it.

the main melody or whatever you call it is incredibly primitive and simplistic, and not in the cool minimal electro way -
More like the shitty "hey i just downloaded fruityloops wanna hear what i made?" kinda way im actually surprized. most of his stuff ive heard i hate, but atleast its usually produced well. Clean sounding cutting edge pop tracks. but this is something else all together. the word "pop-o-zao" comes to mind. Last edited by -evil-duerr-; Jul 07, 06 at 12:35 AM. |

I haven't heard it, but when I do, I'll be sure to post something about it regardless of the outcome, I didn't mind his other stuff too much, it was peppy and had a little flare to it, catchy, I am kind of scared to listen to his new stuff haha!

I'm positive this is the reaction that JT's marketing team was looking for. It creates attention. No one on their team actually gives a shit if its bad or good attention. I havent heard the album but my guess is that everyone will eat up the second single. I personally love the song as it its meant to be loved. A club banger and thats about as much credit as you can give it. Wether this song is produced well or not it doesn't really matter b/c as soon as its dropped this weekend at a place like plush, or plaza, or whatever chances are the room will either be dancing or talking about the said JT single. This creates more media attention for justin which in turn means more photo shoots, endorsments, interviews, and a chance for him to introduce maybe yet again "a new justin"

did you not hear his last album?? he worked with pharell on pretty much all of it which would explain why he has that sound to his tunes. This track wasnt produced by pharell but by timbaland and jt which would explain why it sounds similar to promiscuous. I can actually hear a sample that is used in both tracks its kind of funny. |

That was a really good point, however, about the media attention and so on.... But the production quality sounds like it's been recorded in a tin can by a 6 year old. Not impressed! |

I think the cool thing that people need to realize is that Timbaland is one talented motherfucka. Hes so talented that he can take a high quality production effort and make it sound like it's been recorded in a tin can by a 6 year old. Thats the whoel theme of the track. Its dirty, its sexy, its cheap. Atleast thats what I hear.
