Hard Techno in Van?

Does anyone play it? I'm talking like the most brutal, heavy shit you can find.

If people play it, any info on when/where?

If they don't, would you (the people) give it a shot?

This is seriously some of the best music I've ever heard.

In general most of the techno crowd in Vancouver (particularily the hard/banging/eastern european stuff) is pretty underground and the shows are hard to find.

Soma (coffee shop on Main) has a techno night I believe fridays, the uoykcuf team is usually involved... called It's All Very Technical. Not exactly banging techno but that's probably where you'll want to go to find Vancouver's techno crowd.

MUX is all about the hard-n-dirty acid techno.
Miss Innocent always rocks the crowd with the banging, as does Arn. A lot of the crowd that was into banging/dirty techno 5 years ago though has moved on to tech-house (or in Son Of Jacob's instance, electro).

you can check out lots of hard techno on our radio show on 90.1 fm every friday night. Mirka and I have been banging out stuff for a while now. I like picotto, umek, cave, reeloop, liebing, etc so check us out.

DJ Firewire spins everything that you'd be looking for. Whether if its floor bangin gabber or freeform hardcore.

ppcock has a nice selection of some bangin acid techno that you don't come by.

Now if your choosing to go more underground into the breakcore/glitch/idm/noise/dark ambient/experimental stuff.... believe it or not vancouver has one.... as underground as it is.... there are TONS of artists....

not hard techno per se, but Shine has a weekly techno night on Sundays. It's generally minimal techno, but some of the guests will play the harder stuff. Teknobrat was there just recently and tore the dancefloor a new bunghole...

If I recall a few years ago techno was fairly big in Vancouver (at the smaller underground shows).

I used to play at a lot of shows with hard techno. However the shit I play is to hard for you... pussy.

i spin hard techno and very hard acid techno

Rowland the bastard type stuff, shredder, pretty much anything on the SUF and cluster labels.

It's really hard to find hard techno in vancouver.. Most people (even though i fully respect it) play minimal techno and it's kinda boring.
