Top 10 Things Not to Say to a Female Artist
Because I still get some of these all the time, haha! Every single one of these I've gotten, and I'm willing to bet all the other ladies have too!
Chicks with decks.. please feel free to add ;) 10. So like you looked so hot up there. And you were so hot while you were playing records. Your set was.. uh.. umm.. oh wait.. did I mention you were hot? 9. This is how you work the turntables, and the mixer...(Before she even steps up to the decks) 8. You are beautiful scenery. 7. Will you come spin at my private party? 6. You've definitely got me spinning. Ha ha. 5. Hey, have you heard of that topless DJ? Do you ever do that? 4. You're much better than I thought you'd be. 3. You're pretty good for a girl! 2. Nice set (while staring at her chest) 1. Who produces your tracks? (especially after she hands you a CD with HER name and her name alone credited right on the front) |

How about the popular:
1st complement: Your such a hot DJ 2nd complement: I wish there were more girl dj's out there Some others: You should put a hot pic of you on your cd cover Do you spin Topless? or Dress up? What got you into DJing... your boy firend? I'm not going to be angry if someone complements on my appearance... however if its the first or only thing they have to say after a set... I feel hurt :( Last edited by Ree Fresh; Aug 09, 06 at 04:30 PM. |

i think i'm gonna become a dj and i will call myself "DJ male chauvinist pig", and each of my sets will have the following:
drum & bass (given) cream corn & olive oil wrestling and last but not least..... a feminist protest wet t-shirt contest! |

Male dj's have to deal with oogling female fans that don't really take them seriously as artists just as much if they are somewhat attractive, too.
If you're an attractive person, then your good looks are going to get noticed no matter what you do. There's all kinds of people out there who have cheesy one liners for everything. Just something to get used to I guess. There's just as many people who do have serious respect and admiration for your artistic nature as there are who just like your rack, remember that! |

In all fairness, the c'los chest stare is not just limited to female dj's either. Maybe he's got x-ray vision! :p |
