In that Video he gots the needle on a sample on the track that has a good sample for a scratch, so he just repeats it & then pushes the record to its proper pitch, & then whips the fader to the playing channel!

You usally (or you should) use scratch records to scratch, because its made of awsome extending scratch samples. You rarely find a good part of a track to scratch with, if you do the levels arent high enough or it doesnt extend long enough! & it also ruinss your record that you just paid a whole $20 for & you'll probally never see it again!

Theres nothing wrong with that question, before I strarted & was just looking into it I asked people why the DJ used the fader when he scratches!! DUH!!!!!! But ask questions, & determine if its for you then make a decision before you spend all that cash!

He's not fading all the way from the track that's playing, but that's the best way to cut in and out of the track he's scratching with

He isnt fadeing out of the track completley, just enough to cut in the scratch sample!

Sh4n3 : Dude, awsome question. I had the same question when I first got my decks, as was scared to ask. There are a lot of good vinyls just meant for scratching check out Dj Rectangle - Greatest hits. Its a double vinyl with samples and a few beat loops.
