Ok, perhaps that was too harsh.

Fuck any M-Audio firewire or USB product, seriously. TEH. SUCK.

M-Audio make decent PCI soundcards - the Audiophile series is pretty great actually.

I have no experience with M-Audio DJ software. I know they can't write a USB or FireWire driver to save their lives, but I cannot say with authority that they can't write DJ software. I do not expect their software to be worth the CDs it is burned on, but I look forward to being wrong.

I've been quite happy with the trigger finger I have.... compatible with everything.... right from reason to ableton...
easily assignable... haven't had a problem with it..

Yeah, I've had no issues at all with my Oxygen 8.
I opted for the Akai MPD16 over the Trigger Finger (it was on sale) but none-the-less I've experienced 0 driver problems.
Works fine on both PCs and Macs, Ableton Live 5 and Reason 3.

And I'm going to give Torq a serious look into after its release.

FireWire will become famous soon enough
I love Serato. It's a good piece of hardware, but it has some problems with the software and USB connectivity (goddamn USB1.1... it sucks). Howerver, 99% of the time it does the job right.

I'm curious how the M-Audio Torq will perform - someone hurry and get it!

M-Audio doesn't make those. ;)

Yeah, sorry, my bad - I didn't specify. Fuck any M-Audio USB or Firewire *AUDIO* device. M-Audio (who used to be called "MIDIMAN" and who have been making MIDI interfaces for over a decade) do make decent MIDI products. Their audio offerings, otoh, are abysmal.
