Vancouver Headliners
Why does vancouver promoters always bring in the same headliners? We have a great deal of good headliners that come to this city, but is almost like they are resident dj's in are city! Someone gots to bring some new headliners to vancouver!

it'd be cool to see one of the larger promotional companies in the city bring out some lesser known talent, but as we all know it aint necesarilly about the music, it's about sellin tickets and makin a buck
luckily the club scene aint too bad. there's plenty of good talent stopping through town if you look for it Lenny |

Most of the Florida Funky DJ's have already been in BC and my favourite DJ, Icey I've seen multiple times, so i'm pretty lucky.
However, one that I haven't seen is Mr. Smith aka Brad Smith. He would be dope to see. Like markpaul said, funky breaks isn't everything. How about some dope Nu Skool DJ's (ie. Meat Katie, Rennie Pilgrim, or Player One) As for dnb/jungle, i've already seen capital J, dieselboy, ak1200 and otheres. The one DJ that hasn't been in BC, is the infamous Goldie. If he came, I would cream myself. Ha Ha Ha! |

Goldie's coming to sonar in July with Doc Scott.........and Bad Company is coming june 04th to the lotus, and maybe Dillinja and Lemon D, or the Invaderz later in the summer.......word.....the problem with parties is that the headliner has to be someone who everyone knows, so it's quite often the same damn people over and over again....the club scene is where it's at in terms of both better talent overall, way more talent to see on any night of the week, and talented artists that aren't as well known......and it's cheaper to go out to a club on saturday and see a big DJ ($20 or less), have a couple of drinks ($20 or more), go to an afterhours ($10 - $20) and party all night ($20-$40) total=$80-$100
as opposed to go to the plaza ($50-$75), spend ($10 on water etc...) and party all night ($20-$40) total=$80-$125 do the math..... |

Fawk, none of my friends ever want to go to the clubs and listen to electronica. Always gotta be hip-hop.
Don't get me wrong, I love it, but seeing Hudia @ a club would be fun. K, I need people who are 19 to attend club nights with me! ARGH!!! |
