Fifty Years of Coca-Cola Television Advertisements: Highlights from the Motion Picture Archives at the Library of Congress presents a variety of television advertisements, never-broadcast outtakes, and experimental footage reflecting the historical development of television advertising for a major commercial product. The online collection includes five excerpts from stop-motion advertising developed for Coca-Cola between 1954 and 1956 by the D'Arcy agency and makes public for the first time eighteen excerpts from the Experimental TV Color Project of 1964, which determined the best lighting for the cans, bottles, and performers in television advertisements. Featured advertisements include the 1971 "Hilltop" commercial with an international group of young people on an Italian hilltop singing "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke"; the "Mean Joe Greene" commercial from 1979; the first "Polar Bear" commercial from 1993; the "Snowflake" commercial from 1999; and "First Experience," an international commercial filmed in Morocco in 1999.

This AddOn includes all the presents and sounds from the original CD.

The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY offers exceptionally great possibilities for
creative sound design - from subtle corrections and rich effects to the
total alienation of the input signal.

Never the less, the NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY is easy to use since all parameters
are controlled intuitively and comfortably from a sophisticated graphical
user interface.

FEATURES:

- Effects processor for real-time manipulation of audio material of any
kind

- Produces unique delay effects

- Real-time Fast Fourier Transformation is used to split up each side of
a stereo signal in up to 160 separately modifiable frequency bands

- Level, delay time and feedback level for each of the bands can be set
separately

- Up to 1024 bands are calculated internally

- Intuitive Edit Graphs with comfortable edit functions for setting up
the parameters

- Modulation effects applied in the frequency domain offer many processing
options

- Any frequencies of the signal can be attenuated or filtered completely

- Runs stand-alone with MME, Direct Sound, DirectX, Sound Manager and
ASIO or as a VST plug-in

- Completely MIDI-controllable

There are some ugly bugs in the programm - they are NOT crackrelated,
the original version also has this bugs:

Problem:
========
If i try to apply the Spektral Delay Direct-X Plugin to a wave file it
shows up an "Error opening File" nag!

Solution:
=========
Just click okay, never the less the effects will be applied correctly
to the .wav. You also can use the VST version - there is no nag.

Problem:
========
I´m a Soundforge 5.0 user. If i try to apply any effects from Spektral
Delay DX Plugin it calculates a while, but i can´t hear the effect
after it finishes.

Solution:
========
Use SF 4.5 if you have it! At the moment you can´t apply any Spektral
Delay effects to any open projects, if you use SoundForge 5.0! You can
hear a preview of it, but it doesn´t appply it to the file.

ANY WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT THAT MAY BE PROVIDED IN SECTION 2-312(3) OF THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE AND/OR IN ANY OTHER COMPARABLE STATE STATUTE IS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED. The entire risk arising out of use or performance of the Program remains with you, however Sierra warrants up to and including 90 days from the date of your purchase of the Program that the master disk on which the Program is furnished shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. In the event that the master disk proves to be defective during that time period, and upon presentation to Sierra of proof of purchase of the defective Program, Sierra will at its option 1) correct any defect, 2) provide you with a product of equal or lesser value, or 3) refund your money.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
9. Equitable Remedies. You hereby agree that Sierra would be irreparably damaged if the terms of this License Agreement were not specifically enforced, and therefore you agree that Sierra shall be entitled, without bond, other security, or proof of damages, to appropriate equitable remedies with respect to breaches of this License Agreement, in addition to such other remedies as Sierra may otherwise have available to it under applicable laws.

This License Agreement may be amended, altered or modified only by an instrument in writing specifying such amendment, alteration or modification, which is executed by both parties. In the event that any provision of this License Agreement shall be held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, such provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining portions of this License Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
You hereby acknowledge that you have read and understand the foregoing License Agreement and agree that the action of installing the Program is an acknowledgment of your agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of the License Agreement contained herein. Posted: Mon Jul 08, 2002 12:04 pm Post subject: FM TOP TEN BEST GEAR 1992-2002

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's Future Music's 10th anniversary
in a couple of months' time, and to
celebrate, we're going to be looking back at the best things of the past
10 years: gear released, FM interviews and big events.
We want you to choose what you think has been the best gear released
since 1992.
It can be
- the most groundbreaking bit of kit
- the most innovative bits of software
- the bit of gear that *everyone* bought and still uses
- that 'fad' synth that *everyone* bought but never uses
You know the kind of thing

Post your top 10 here or email it direct to me on
lisa.mcgee@futurenet.co.uk
And we'll be putting the results in our double-CD 10th anniversary issue
(FM129, on sale 1st November), and obviously the Top 10s will be on
here as well.

And before anyone tries to include it in their list, yes, the TB-303
came *before* 1992 (long before...)

Bye for now
Lisa

1) Mackie HR824's . . . hi-end quality available at an attainable price . . . good output rulez!!!

2) Fruity Loops . . . if a moronic, mucking Midiot like moi can make cool riffs with this thing so quickly, then the Great GUI has truly smiled upon us all . . .

Ground breaking kit: MC303 - it doesnt sound great now and was quickly superceeded but at the time it was amazing. It brought budget music making to the masses and opened the floodgates to the whole groovebox market.

Ground breaking software: VST - not the software package itself but the technology which is now shared by most sequencers. Changed everything!

Most essential piece of kit: Kenton Control Freak - still stands head and shoulders above the rest in the land of the midi controller.

No particular order...

1. Mackie HR824 Studio Monitors
Great speakers, good price/performance, and looks to be the successor for the ubiquitous NS-10s

2. Triton Keyboard Workstation
The first GREAT workstation. Motif has stolen the thunder recently, but this deserves the nod for reinventing the concept and popularity.

3. Roland MC-303
First great sounding, all-in-one piece that was within the price range of a McDonalds employee.

4. Yamaha RS-7000
Monster groovebox with so many uses it is frightening. This one is just getting ready to hit its strine. Sequencer, drum machine, sampler, idea generator, sound module and control surface uses... Watch out.

5. NI Reaktor
Still above many people's heads, truly lets people know about the possibilities of the software revolution to come.

6. MOTU 828 Firewire Audio Interface
Pro-quality, no-nonsense audio on a laptop... this one is a no-brainer.

7. Akai MPC2000
I don't use them, but I can't deny that I know TONS of folks who still do. Don't really know why, but this one is a monster, and also a no-brainer for best of in the past 10 years.

8. MOTU Midi Interfaces
Still the best and most flexible MIDI interfaces available. It may not be sexy, but if your setup consists of more than a couple of peices of hardware, these babys open up so many possiblities.

9. Electrix Filter Factory
Fun, wicked sounds, inexpensive and looks great in a rack... watch for these to get more popular in their discontinued status.

10. Native Instruments FM7
Why do I have hardware again? Someone, please tell me. Especially if this is the future.

Good one this. However, the best bit of kit I have is that TerraTec doohickey the EWS88MT. Combine this with Cubase VST, a decent desk, FX rack, TechnoX and a Deep Bass Nine then you have a setup to reckon with!

Just in case yer wondering where a sap like me ended up with an EWS88MT, then I'll tell ya.

I WON THE FUCKER IN THE COMPUTER MUSIC COMPRESSA REMIX COMPETITON. THE COMPETITION THAT NEVER GOT THE RESULTS HOSTED ONLINE LIKE PROMISED AND GOT A SHODDY 4 LINE PARAGRAPH AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 10 OF ISSUE 44.

You figure it out.

As the Novation Bass Station has been mentioned (and rightly so IMHO) - how about the Supernova? - you could even mention the SN2!

Sod it, just mention Novation

I think the most important pieces of technology are Reason (for fantatsic value for money esp in Reason 2.) and Cubase Vst (for the whole virtual concept). I struggle with thinking of any keyboard that was ground breaking duing 1992-2002 the way the DX7/D50 were in the 80s.

Hmm... perhaps the Neuron and NOAH will change that...

I am not sure I agree with this one as the PLG-DX daughter board already had these functionalities.

Dope:

The MC307 is geared more towards turntablists. I picked up the MC505, and it's one sweet piece of gear with more knobs, buttons, and real-time control to play with. The part mixer is also somewhat similar to the RS and is one sweet way to control your grooves. Once you get under the hood and really figure it out, you can build your own tones with the most complex editability I've seen in a box to date.

If you've got the bucks, I'd say go for the 505 -- you'll like it better.

Also, while drifting off to sleep the other night, I came upon the thought that it's theoretically possible to plug the 505 midi out to the RS midi in, and the RS midi out to the 505 midi in; effectively allowing both boxes to control each other for some whacked results.
