If anyone is the least concerned about the rise of meth zombies in Surrey...
Here's the reason why it rose ALOT last year:
"17th of March 2007Van. Sun: Lawyer Don Morrison outraged that Horsemen allowed 60 pounds of methephetamine to go into the Surrey Drug Market in their E-Pandora Drug STing using a "million dollar" undercover agent .... RCMP INsp. Gary Shinkaruk said he was very pleased that B.C. Supreme Court Justice Curtis ruled RCMP strategy and tactics OK .... Talk about Horsemen "OBSESSED MUCH" with doing a take down .... Interesting: OK: Doing "sure damage" to many people, if maybe preventing "posible damage" to many people..." -- Egwald Cliches Basically the RCMP strategy and tactic to control drug crime is to get more people hooked on meth. A meth intervention program in Kamloops had to let kids smoke marijuana in order to result in 5 out of 8 teens in it last year going clean. In its first program, Phoenix Centre's Meth Kickers only got one kid to graduate the program on the abstinence model. Assuming eight kids were in it, that's a succees rate of about 12.5% for the abstinence method, probably where tapering methods were used. Well, better a stoner than a tweaking jib artist. Meth Kickers No word on whether the Phoenix Society's treatment house near Surrey Memorial Hospital lets kids smoke marijuana, but the Meth Kickers' success proves my suggestion that marijuana is the lesser of two evils. |

Personally, I'd rather have 100 people on methadone maintenance being confrontational than 10 people tweaking obsessively on jib.
My older friend with the two schizoid adult children is currently having problems with a methadone tenant at the house she first rented in 1990 in Surrey, right in the middle of City Centre's skidrow, kitty corner from the BC Lions training facility. That guy has ruined the bathroom, broken a window in the living room, complained about mold which resulting in the living being a disaster pulling mold out of the ceiling, argued with a former tenant who moved out due to some coke dealer after him for money. Meanwhile, I am pretty sure the drug addicts doing drugs in the little trailer in the back yard are doing jib. They broke into it to get out of the rain. Ironically, she and I were discussing marijuana the other day, and she was complaining about it being addictive and some other nonsense. If you toke a whole roach, then I would agree; but then I am the exception where I demonstrate titrative behavior much to the amusement of my chronic buddies. I think this is the only time I sometimes think forming a pro-marijuana gang would be nice, seeing as the cops are more interested in diverting cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana into Surrey, just to find the drug kingpins. This gang's duty is to trade all other dangerous drugs for equivalent value of marijuana, teach the junkies, tweakers and snorters how to use marijuana safely, and DESTROY the DANGEROUS DRUGS in front of them! Supposedly the Guardian Angels are doing patrols in Surrey, but I have not seen a red beret yet. The war veterans aren't any help; all they do is go to the Whalley Legion to drink booze. Please, for the sake of the community, just fucking legalize drugs.:( FWIW there are pro-marijuana gangs out there. They are called cannabis activists. While they don't deal with dangerous drug users, their influence so great that the meth program in Kamloops allowed the kids in the rehab program to smoke marijuana. Titrative behavior is when a drug user uses less of the drug in subsequent instances from the initial dose, so as to have a "less-is-more" effect.
The object of such behavior is to train oneself to "get high" on lesser and less amounts of the drug. |

original article: globeandmail.com: Control of RCMP mole was concern
60 lbs of meth went to Surrey because of Plante's actions, and the BC courts ruled that that was acceptable. And now he's $500,000 richer with $500,000 to be paid when he finishes testifying. No doubt he will be in a witness protection program by then, too. I wonder if he'll ever start a protein drink empire... |
