Here's the stats on what the UGTF has accomplished in the 8 months it's been in operation:

- 13,337 people searched.

- 3, 993 vehicles searched.

- 2,000 intelligence reports compiled.

- 57 warrants issued.

- 72 criminal charges.

- 23 firearms seized.

- Five sets of body armour seized.

- Four armoured cars seized.

The stats appear to indicate that less than 200 people are active in gangs in the Lower Mainland.

This number excludes girlfriends and wives of gang members, as well as friends and associates.

In some cases, friends will drive the vehicle used to transport the gang member to a site where they steal stuff, and home again.

Apart from that the friends do not do any criminal activity themselves.

Often, all they know is they drove the person to a crime scene, but are unaware their friend committed a crime.

So as long as the gang member isn't covered in blood, their friends are none the wiser.
