oh gawd... craze ''e'' blossom...yes there are meanies out there an bullies too *pouts* but dont worry theyll get whats comin for em....OPEN YOUR EYES chica, theyre not mean, theyre just tired of fuckin assumptions that every 'raver' is fucked on e and loves everyone. this may be the case for you, but its not for them. everythin will eventually go mainstream and yes, it sucks ass but thats life...the only thing we can do bout it is laff at tha ppl who think theyre hardcore, but are really tweens lookin for an escape and use drugs as their excuse. but...itll happen no matta what, so to use yer words, paige.....just ignore it. :moon:

I fully agree, sometimes ya sorta have to sell out a little:kam: thats life, its either a cancelled show, or a wicked party that may be just a little advertised by the "big honchos" like Z...Its a small sacrifice, it doesnt mean that the scene is mainstream atall...This is just a more commercialized party, what a silly thread :284:
IMF is going to rock!! And that is that...teehee:c-tard:

The only way to advertise a rave was to pay Wilbur the town drunk, 2 bits (A quarter), to shout out the name, date and location of the party while stumbling through the town square.

We never had halls or warehouses to party in. We'd usually use a barn or a really spacious cave.

For lighting we had a few rows of people smashing rocks together to make sparks. And for added visuals, some of the massives used to have a few cows or goats hangin around. Livestock can sure liven up a party you know.

Instead of DJs, we would get Tarknab the town foreign guy, to pretty much start talking in his native tongue, nobody understands him anyways. And sometimes Wilbur would step up and have a drunken MC battle with himself. (He usually lost)

The one up side to partying back then was the cost of drugs. You could get a pint of house paint to sniff for 12 cents at the dry goods market.

I tell ya, you kids got it lucky today with your buildings and 'lectricity and what not.

*Grumble Grumble*
Good GOD that was funny!

OK well think of it this way....
1990 to about 1999 maybe even 2000, that was the years of when all the whiney punks were like "hey man punk is mainstream, those guys are sell outs, ur a poseur, dont kill my scene, emocore is for pussys, " there was the groups of punks who liked nofx, the whole fat wreck chords sound, all that stuff... and then there was the punks who only liked dead kennedys or operation ivy etc etc etc etc... and everyone bitched about it being mainstream , but now punk is more mainstream then ever... and the people who actually liked the music before, shrugged off what everyone said and still like the music to this day... Point is , who cares if things go "mainstream" in my opinion electronic music has been popular for a long long time, and has gone commercial in the last 13 years or so, but its impossible for anything NOT to be commercial in the capitalist society we live in... sure electronic music is popular, but thats better for people who love the music to get there production out there for people to hear, enjoy, and play, the commercialism justs allows for dj's/producers, to start there own labels, and do something they love...in my opinion its not truly mainstream until u got every person in ur class in high school banging there heads to breaks, etc etc etc and have someone like avril lavigne singing along with the beat, and u got dj's driving around in bentleys with phat platinum chains.... bitching about it is only gonna destroy it...so enjoy the music ...
