I agree with the respect thing....Relationships are all about respect. And, I mean, hey, females have come such a long way but there is still the lingering ideal of misogyny. If we have been working so hard for equal rights throughout the years, why set ourselves back in time by implying that our *slaps* shouldn't be retaliated back upon us.

i've slapped a few of my ex's and just ppl that are being pricks, girls, guys, whatever, small children, etc. i could care less if they hit me back, equal rights and all that bit. i will admit i have been hit back before, i probably deserved it too.
