an onomatopoeia is a word like 'buzz' that sounds like what it describes.

it's not simply a word that makes you THINK of what it is, but a word that actually sounds like what it is. when something is buzzing it makes the sound 'BUZZZZZZ', but when something is wiggling it doesn't go 'WIGGGGLE'
