So why do we close posts?

Seriously? I dont realy know why a mod just decided to close a thread just becase they thought the topic changed slightly. Personaly i though it was kinda silly and not neaded, and a power tripping thing to do. I know F&K went threw some rugh times dealing with this kinda thing and it seems things have cleared up much better.
But that wasnt cool what hapened :219:



Could we get a fair explanation why a thread would just close?
Could we learn form our mistakes?

oh there are many possibilities.

it could be because the poster's thread got too out of hand. they probably weren't able to deal with it because it didn't get the reaction they expected.

I don't think closing a thread just because the subject veered off from the original is just. There was never anything bad or offensive in that. Just some arguments.

If we should close posts for changing subjects, then I think about 50% or more of F&K posts should be closed too.

U guys no matter how many times u talk about this ... it won't get resolved ... yeah it isn't fair that our threads get closed , deleted and moved.

Um...i don't think it was OUR MISTAKE ... but instead someone didn't like it and the *poof* it was all gone ... but i have to say alot of the threads were very inappopriate and shouldn't have been posted ... but it isn't my place to say what stays and what goes. That's why we have mods to make sure that F&K is a place where everyone can feel welcome , so if that means a few less threads then why not.

WHAT??? So if someone doesnt like what you said, then your fine with them just deleating/closeing your post? And what if they where saying mean things to you, and you try to defened yourself... but they have every right to have control of what you say?

you go to edit the original post at started the thread, and you check delete to erase it. next best thing to closing, or ask a moderator to close a thread for an appropriate reason. oh, and don't sound like you know me or something you geek.
