your all wrong. nuf shouldnt be makin dumbass posts to sneakily advertise the fact that hes playing out (i understand your excited, but alotta older dudes get bitter when they see little fuckers expectin all this love when theyve been doin it for years just in thier basement) and cubed and marty shouldnt be so quick to rip into the noob, you were both in his shoes at one point. plur. What to play on stage 3 and 4
I've spun at the smoke pit stage before, and managed to attract about 80 people at the max...not a lot, but not bad given the size of the stage imho
The trick to stage 3 and 4 (out in the open bright areas) is not to keep people at the stage, but keep a lotta people coming to replace the ones who leave. Everybody dancing at these stages (unless they're your friends or fans) is just there in passing. They're more ambient stages to keep the mood bumpin' When party people go away from the main rooms to take a piss, drink water, whatever...they will stop if it's A/ familiar or B/ just plain sick ass beat. Your safe bet is option A. My advice is drop anthems like they're going outta style... stick to may 1/4 remixes in your set, but make sure they're REALLY REALLY recognizable tunes. I spun all 5+ year old shit at IMF and did ok... Stick with the great artists... ie. anthems. Now: Hard House vs Funky House Any DJ who's got some experience will tell ya that you gotta play to the crowd. If you're surrounded by hard house freaks, then play hard house... i dont recommend it though.. too hyped, and looks like ur trying to compete with the main room... it aint happenin... sound systems at stage 3 and 4 are not nearly as powerful... Funky house can be good... stick with anthems to get people's attention.. a good track is always a good track, and never goes stale I can't think of one party in the past 3 years i haven't heard Dj Dan's Needle Damage, and Earth Wind & Fire's September 2001 remix... they are recognizable and party people love those tracks i dunno..just my two bits |
