PERFECT COMBINATION VS. MAT THE ALIEN
July 3rd, 2003 @ SWERVE (drum & bass at CLUB 7 ALEXANDER on Thursdays) alongside resident DJ's PSIDREAM (Breakbeat Science/Ohm Resistance) + MARVEL (Kaktus Records/JS-Crew) PERFECT COMBINATION has been DJ'ing since 1987 and has had releases on such legendary labels as Moving Shadow, Formation, Global Thang, and more. Over the years, he has gained continuous support from DJ's such as LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, Doc Scott, Randall, Kemistry & Storm, Peshay, DJ SS, Kenny Ken, Decoder, Ed Rush & Optical, DJ Hype, Ray Keith, Bad Company, and the list goes on. His label Freeform, based in Manchester, started in 1998 and has established itself as a label to reckoned with. Aside from Perfect Combination's own productions, the label has released music by the likes of Marcus Intalex & S.T. Files, Future Cut, DJ Sappo and Accidental Heroes (aka Sonic & Silver). MAT THE ALIEN has been rocking the decks since 1988 and, like Perfect Combination, is also originally from Manchester. In 1995, Mat moved to Whistler and started doing regular hip hop nights mixed with drum & bass and turntablism, among other styles. His deck skills have earned him opening slots for the likes of Rascalz, Swollen Members, Herbaliser, Afrika Bambaata, Rahzel, Atmosphere, and many more.
