Taylor @ Sonar

The author of 1995's classic rave tune "Anomaly (Calling Your Name)", Los Angeles's Taylor is to the American trance scene what John Digweed is to the Brits: a polished selector with a flair for anthemic productions. Trained as a jazz drummer, the Washington-state native moved in the early 1990s to Southern California, where he quickly established himself in the city's burgeoning party scene. While trance becomes less relevant with each passing year, Taylor is one of the genre's few enduring champions, so when he appears at Sonar on Friday (February 27), the show will play like the dance equivalent of Custer's last stand, minus the bloodshed.
