funny you should mention that, the lead singer of the original bad company lives in white rock, and threatened to sue me when he saw my posters for the last show......no joke, i had to get new posters done that said "(the act formerly known as bad company uk)"
i'd defintely book them again, but the thing is is that they kind of fell apart.....bad company used to consist of fresh, d-bridge, maldini and vegas (d-bridge and maldini were the two that played the lotus for me a year and a half ago in the summer, and i think it was d-bridge and vegas who played club 23 about 2 years or so before that)....anyways, fresh went solo and left the group, and he was the one who did most of the production for bad company, or at least he did most of the production on most of what would be called the "big tunes". with fresh solo, bad company has fallen off a little in my opinion, i haven't picked up the last couple of releases, and i haven't heard too many djs playing them out either. fresh's solo stuff is pretty hot, with releases on ram and breakbeat kaos...and of course his "original jungle sound" track that he did with adam f blew up huge....personally i'd rather bring fresh than bring bad company, they weren't exactly what i'd call "tight" djs last time, and fresh is the man with the tunes, but i know there'd be a way bigger crowd if it said "bad company", and i think fresh doesn't really like being associated with that name on the marquee..... I still like most of Bad Company's production with or without Fresh - FUTURE FORCES INC came first remember! - but aside from a little nuances in the newer trax, its nothing that sets em apart from anything else out there. I caught em on their Calgary date in June 2002, and wasn't dissappointedl
I'm listening to a recent BC set as i post oddly enough, and the tunes are there, but, nothing too interesting. I generally like dark, or hard techy stuff too, but... **Yawn** Last edited by **TORMENT**; Mar 02, 04 at 04:02 PM. |

the show dbridge and maldini gave last year was pretty mediocre... but i saw em 2 years ago in sydney and FUCK they destroyed the place! wayyy tighter, crazier mixes, kaos fx pad, smokin blunt after blunt (dbridge is crazy!) and someone went as far as stealing their cd case!! but eventually gave it back..
but above all, maldini is the tightest mixer of them all.... dbridge is fun to watch cuz all he does is smoke weed, vegas i dunno.... fresh has tracks but apparantly can't mix worth shit.. |
