SHILOH (Electrofly/ Vancouver) @ twentyHz May 19th

Love.Life.Music, twentyHz Music and C1rca Present

A night of Ambient soundscapes and Progressive Breakbeats...

Wednesday May 19th we welcome...

SHILOH (Electrofly, Baroque, Nascent, Method, Cuba/ Canada)

Dubbed "breaks men of the moment" by HOOJ.com, brothers Colin and Justin Moreh from Vancouver have been busy, very busy! They're Proton Radio monthly residents, have 7 successful current releases, 14 signed forthcomming releases, and 1 full length album due out the end of this year.Their first track "Will U Ever Come Around" which was remixed by Australian superstars, Infusion, had numerous plays on BBC
Radio1 and was signed to a reality TV series in the UK. Shiloh's tracks have touched the world. Deep, melodic and progressive their music has enjoyed huge support by many a large DJ including: Sasha, Adam Freeland, James Zabiela, BLIM, and Luke Chable to name a few.
Brother Colin is no stranger to the DJ game either. DJ'ing
with the name Maya in the late 90's. He was one of the first west coast Canadian DJs to travel internationally--playing clubs in England, Germany, Ireland, and the US.
Locally, Maya held a residency alongside Max Graham for Sweet Productions one of Canada's largest promotion companies at that time. Playing to thousands at their parties and club night, Sweet Life. Colin's DJ roots are planted. Now with the help of his brother Justin, an accomplished musician and sofware Beta tester of many years Shiloh has become an international success.
For fans of UK progressive breaks and intelligent music, Shiloh's hometown debut is not to be missed!

Just to let you know...

The brothers Shiloh are from Chillawack, and Maya was the first progressive trance dj in vancouver, even before Kevin Shiu. If you don't believe me talk to Colin yourself ;) . With that said this is going to be one of vancouvers first "Progressive Breaks" events. There are still some FREE!!! promo tickets at Boomtown so get there quick. The guys have told me that they will be playing alot of their own tracks and exclusive tracks from luke chable and gwill morris to name a few. With the changes that have gone on within the scene over the last few years now is the time to identify with "our sound." Westcoast producers are starting to emerge. Representing us by putting Vancouver on the map, globally. And it is with our support, the scene that we all love so much, can blossom with a new life. See you there.

It's wayyy after the fact, but this was just pointed out to me. First off, I'm not, nor have I ever said that I was the first progressive or trance DJ from Vancouver. Although I predated Kevin by about 2 or 3 years (he's a very good friend and picked me up from the airport when I first moved to Vancouver), there were guys like Markem just before me, and a few who started playing out around the same time as me. However, I was the first West Coast Canadian DJ to travel internationally with any kind of regularity--and I have no reason to lie or big myself up about that, as that was a past life and we've accomplished a few other things since then as shiloh. ;)

For this gig we were undrepaid by 100 bucks less than what we agreed upon, and neither of us said a peep to anyone at any time, thinking that it must have been a mistake and giving fader the benefit of the doubt... so I don't think I'm caught up in our hype as his wink seemed to have suggested. geigh little dig, imo.

anyhoo, those of you who came to that show... thanks a ton. it was really cool to play our first show in vancouver as shiloh, and i must admit, that fact made me extremely nervous.. coming back like that after so long. thanks to fader as well--i thought he did a great job of the night and he deserves any good that comes to him.

sorry!

Sorry If I disrespected anybody with this post. I was just trying to let people know of Colin's history and in my translation I conveyed the message wrong. My intent was to give people a sense that this show was of deep progressive roots. Full respect to Kevin Shiu! He has been a key icon to the exposure and deliverance of world class progressive house for years. I've talked with Colin about the money it was an honest mistake. We're cool. To be offered a chance to put on this show was a dream come true for me. I usually do one show a year and I admit I go a little nuts (paying a bum to put posters on his bike, giving out over a hundred free tickets, spending a bunch on beers.) The night cost me $400 bucks in the end but It was a small price to pay for the experience. Those guys played the most amazing tunes and were very gounded real dudes. Free of attitude, full of humbility. True professionals. Their music definately represents them well. I hope that with this show I acheived my goal of exposing Vancouver to the new/old sound of progressive breaks. From past response, I feel that I have. Thanks Soda, Priceless, Justin and Colin.

Sincerely,

Chris Misener, Lt.Light aka DARK FADER
