A Word about the man Dave Tipper...
==================================== Tipper hails from Wimbledon, England. He doesn’t enjoy any fuss being made about him, which makes his story difficult to tell. This is supposed to carry on about him being a brilliant artist, mention all the exotic cities he’s performed in, and all the sold-out gigs he has headlined to thousands of cheering fans etc. It’s supposed to mention all the famous names that he has been involved with, all the awards he has won, and then finally finish by saying something like “keep an eye out for this guy – this is definitely his BIG YEAR!” (woohoo!). It’s supposed to rev you up, and impress you enough that you will buy his albums, and hopefully go to his gigs. You can get all that sort of information from the website (www.Tipper.cc) – here’s his humble tale: Tipper is a ‘global nomad’ who tours the world non-stop, earning a modest living while he does. Everything he needs to make music he carries with him; his backpacks contain his mobile studio, allowing him to work while he travels. He often spends more than a couple nights in each town or city he is booked to DJ, ‘getting local’ in that place, before heading to the next gig to do the same. Size doesn’t matter (that’s what they all say) when it comes to the gig – he’s just as happy playing in a small town club on a Tuesday night, as he is a weekend outdoor festival. He doesn’t insist on 5 star hotels (although he enjoys them!), eats what the locals eat (he’s a good cook himself), and is unfailingly polite to all he meets. It’s easy to understand why he has loyal followings in out of the way places such as Budapest, Tasmania, Vancouver, Florida and ‘Frisco. His sets are usually well-received (some say the best they’ve heard), after which he leaves the gig, goes to bed (doesn’t party much), then comes back and does it again when invited. His sets consist of his own music for the most part, well prepared and mixed, highlighted at times by his extraordinary scratching. Tipper is very shy about his scratching (he says he’s shit compared to Q Bert), but those in the know will tell you he is extremely good. His ability sets him apart from his peers, and it is not unusual for him to receive a loud ovation during his set as a result “jazzy” scratching style. Then there are his legendary bass tones - unfortunate monitor speakers were last seen being carried from the room during a set in Brisbane, Australia with smoke pouring out of them! You have to hear (and feel) them for yourself to understand (sorry- what?). Further demonstrating his versatility, he can also perform in 5.1 surround sound from his laptop computer, presenting a musical experience that swirls around you (with the right sound system). Tipper’s a proven pioneer, with his production and performance techniques placing him securely amongst the electronic music elite. In spite of this non-stop schedule, he still finds the time to actually make some music. His first album is called Critical Path; it came out on a major label, and was dubbed “streaks ahead of its time.” His second album, Holding Pattern, was released on his own label (Fuel Records), and was very influential in the international breaks community. His third album Surrounded (MyUtopia Recordings) was produced for DVD in 5.1 surround sound (there’s also a CD version in stereo). It is a listening experience, and was nominated Best Release by the 2003 Surround Music Awards (had to sneak that in). He has two new album projects ready for release in 2004: Tip Hop (hip hop beats), and Relish the Trough (his third breaks album). Both of these albums were written whilst travelling between America, Australia, Asia, continental Europe and England during 2003/04. Go and check him out for yourself. The music will probably get some kind of reaction – if it doesn’t move you, please check for a pulse! |

DOODE THOSE CARS ARE FUCKING LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOUUUUUDDDDDDDDD
The fuel crew likes their bassbins or maybe they dont seeing as though they like to punish them!!! I read somewhere that they were doing a show at a music festival with there dodge chargers and they were so loud that when Prodigy was performing on a stage a fair bit away they could hear the cars and complained. Now they have legal documents signed when they arrive to these shows so no one can turn them down. (that mite be a little diff from what i read but if memory serves me right) |
