MUX Live-PA @ "Fuck You", Monday July 26
Holas,
I'm playing a one-hour set of live-pa rave techno at the techno clubnight "Fuck You" tomorrow night. "Fuck You" is thrown by the dynamic duo of SonOfJacob and The Trucker, international techno rockstars of Soundproof fame. Also playing tomorrow night will be DJ Sappho from Portland (and apparently she throws it right the fuck down) and The Trucker. "Lick" used to be called "Milk" - it's upstairs from the Lotus Sound Lounge, at 455 Abbott Street (at Pender). Most nights it's a lesbian bar, but Mondays it is a techno night - well, up until now, this Monday will be the last "Fuck You" on a Monday night, as it is moving to every second Thursday. The last few Mondays have been packed. My music has been described as "melodic acid techno" - heavily influenced by guys like D.A.V.E. the Drummer and Chris Liberator. Gearspotters and technoheads are welcome; I bring out a careful selection of oldschool analogue hardware and no laptop. I've requested that my set be from 11pm-midnight, so those of you that want to come but can't because of work Tuesday, rest assured that you could potentially come, catch my set, and still be in bed at a reasonable hour. Door is $5, opens at 10pm, my set is at 11pm SHARP. Really. I'm not kidding this time. ;)
