Shadow Jugglers @ Tapinis Friday August 13th
Hola!
On Friday August 13th the Shadow Jugglers crew will throw down its second event at Tapinis, 19 Water Street (beside the Purple Onion in gastown). The first show featuring Vancouver's DnB/Jungle radio shows was a really special night, but this one will be simply massive with Black Market (Mtl), Noradawn (Van), Angst (Van) and the Shadow Jugglers crew (Van). A junglist event not to be missed. Blake Markle ’s name (aka Black Market ) pops up all over the Montreal music-scene radar. He plays with live prog-jazz-D&B unit Dr. Noh, makes up half of downtempo duo dB and records and spins the drum and the bass as Black Market , the tag he's using for his Wikkid releases. With solid schooling and a musical vision that reaches way past jungle-for-jungle's-sake. Blake Markle is a brilliant Canadian artist. He will present us a live PA show. Nice 1 motherfucka! I strongly recommend you to take a closer look at the links below and especially his website (www.flatwax.com) and listen to his mp3s (my fav is Rude Walking): http://www.montrealmirror.com/ARCHIVES/ ... 11.html%20 http://www.montrealmirror.com/ARCHIVES/ ... c3.html%20 http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/ar ... She is a local favourite, who takes the time to be a part of the underground scene. A self taught DJ, she crafts each set to her audience, and returns their energy back to the dancefloor. Noradawn is part of the Reverse collective that incorporates multi media collaborations into their productions, with performance art, visual art, fashion, and a bit of unique flare (www.reversecrew.com). She is also a designer. Check out her clothing line, NoraDawn Tribe Creation . (www.noradawn.cjb.net/) Originally hailing from the Southeastern United States, ANGST brought his unique blend of classic and nuskool jungle mashups to Vancouver in 2002. This rudebwoy has rocked crowds all over the U.S. and Western Canada with his batch of exclusive dubplates and crates of the roughest beats around. In addition to co-owning a brand new breaks label, TwentyHz, he currently holds a residency at Vancouver's ragga-jungle monthly, The Re-Lick. Hit up www.angstriddim.com and have a listen to his latest mixes and stay tuned for his latest mix, which will be available in late summer 2004. AssaSINS/TwentyHz/www.digitalbombing.com Shadow Jugglers Crew was originally born in montreal through Marie-Paule Berthiaume (aKa MP Coast2Coast ). The Shadow Jugglers crew have crawled their way across the candian landscape with their radio shows and have taken over the local station CiTR (101.9FM)in Vancouver every Saturday night from 7-9pm. Bias and MP have been holding down the radio show since January 04 showcasing local DJ's from DnB through Ragga-Jungle. From Bias' hard hitting beats that force you out of your seat to MP 's eclectic warm rythms this pair holds it down. Along the way new selectors have come on board, Jimungle and Soo from the local Sunday night DnB showcase 'Good' are heard regularily dropping their soulfull and party rocking beats. MC E has also come on with the Shadow Juggler crew as a permantent spectacle at each radio show, keeping the people informed and rocking them with his mighty verbal flow. Schedule for the night: 10 to 10:40 pm Soo (Hip Hop set) (Van) 10:40 to 11:45 Bias VS Jimungle (DnB set) (Van) 11:45 to 12:45 Black Market (DnB/Jungle live set) (Mtl) 12:45 to 1:30 Noradawn (Jungle set) (Van) 1:30 to 2:00 Angst (Ragga-Jungle / Dancehall set) (Van) and till late MP (Jungle set) (Van/Mtl) For those who want to rip it up and break it down on a Friday night, please join us in the celebration of phat beats and wicked treats.
