Silverwaters/Sound Funktion/Floorplay Entertainment bring you Rollin on Bass 3
The Breakfastaz (UK) (Cyberfunk, MOB, Passenger, Broke) The Breakfastaz are the bollocks. No breakbeat team are ranked higher as the future of the scene. They're relentless. Explosive and there extremely talented lads. They recently recieved the award for best breakthrough act and this years breakpoll awards and it was very well deserved. The Breakfastaz have had an enormous impact upon the scene in the short time they've been around. Already, in the space of just over a year, the West London trio have put out more than 10 plates featuring original tracks and remix work for the likes of The Freestylers, Aquasky, The Autobots and DJ Deekline. Having been writing music together for several years now, each of them bring a wide range of influences to the melting pot, helping forge their unique sound. In addition to their production and engineering talents, all three members of The Breakfastaz are musicians skilled in a variety of instruments: you'll notice this from their infectious melodies, bouncing b-lines and driving beats. Something also noticed by a number of leading breaks artists who support The Breakfastaz tracks, names that include Tayo, Krafty Kuts, The Freestylers, DJ Quest, Deekline, and even Seb Fontaine. There releasing tracks at an alarming rate and the quality is second to none! Baobinga (U.K.) (Cyberfunk, Plastic Raygun, Hardcore Beats, 777) Baobinga represents all that is exciting about dance music. Not afraid to mash up the styles for maximum rave impact, his DJ sets are known for fusing techno, breaks and garage into a high tempo rinse session. As a producer, Baobinga has garnered a reputation for powerful tunes in all styles that work the dancefloor into a sweaty frenzy. Releasing on a variety of top drawer labels, including Cyberfunk, Plastic Raygun, Hardcore Beats and Fusetrax, his productions range from heads down stompers through emotional rollers to bouncy beat fests - and they all attract attention from the big names in breaks and beyond... His remix of Transformer Man’s ’88mph’ has become a fixture in J Da Flex’s 1 Xtra garage show, and plaudits have been received from other garage heads such as Oris Jay, Slaughter Mob and Morph. Baobinga first became involved in music as a child, learning classical piano whilst drumming in a variety of bands. A six month trip to China saw him decide to take the music ting seriously and when he got back, he immersed himself into a music course at Salford University. Gradually adapting his love of drum and bass and techno into breaks productions, his first release was the massive ’Nukka’ on Plastic Raygun. Since then his sound has been progressing, along with the burgeoning bassline breaks scene, into the distinctive funk-ridden flavas of now. With support from the likes of Quest, Phantom Beats, The Freestylers, Atomic Hooligan, Deep Impact, Friendly, J Da Flex...(shall we go on?!?), 2005 is shaping up to be a big year for the one they sometimes call ’The Pineapple Smoothie’ - which is what Baobinga means in Shanghainese. Cinto (cd release party) (Twisted, Malicious, Breaklogix, Troubadour, G2) For the last 7 years people have been asking Cinto when this time was coming, now here it is, his CD “TWISTED BASSLINES Vol. 1”. Some of his favourite speed garage from the past, present and future is to be heard on this mix. For the last few years you have all known him for his breaks but he digs deep into his roots, and mixes up a collection of some fine tracks. I hope you are all ready for this… Speed Garage and Breaks, Cinto style… J Sharp (Seattle) (Mnemonic, The Vortex) Our Cross border Breaks Brutha' Back once again to lay down the bad ass Nu Skool.
