'Nucks played a solid game, f'sure. In fact, I rather like the way they look as a team right now. This will probably be highly contested, but I think losing Naslund and Morrison actually did some good for the 'Nucks, as it helped create a new identity (plus has the ability to catch their opponents by surprise when they discover they actually do have some potential scoring options without the old standbys there).
HOWEVER, we should also credit the 'Nucks big win to the Flames' lousy backchecking. It was atrocious last night. |

Solid game, glad I watched. Even though it's the first game of the season it's still hard not to get pumped after a game like that.
I didn't expect such a physical game from the Canucks so I was pleasantly surprised. It's too bad I won't be able to see the game on Saturday. I would have loved to see the Canucks take that momentum to Calgary. |

Nice game last night, not often in the past have the Canucks been down 2 goals and come back. Demitra scored the winner and got first star (which was awesome), but the player I have been most impressed with the first 2 games is Rick Rypien. Obviously his goals and point totals have been anomalies and he is not "that" kind of player, but dude will hit and fight and grind and can at least shoot the puck better than a regular 4th liner and may pot a couple more before the season is out.
Of course, he is notoriously fragile, so lets hope we can see highlights like this all year: (I want everyone to keep this in mind while you watch this fight, Rick Rypien is 5'11, 170 pounds, and he absolutely destroys someone who has height advantage and like 20-30 pounds on him) Last edited by rawb; Oct 12, 08 at 02:33 PM. |

This is such a bullshit observation of that fight. Mitchell controlled the entire situation, got the jersey over the head and drilled iginla with shots (not droppers no, but shots) I've never seen a guy get his jersey shredded like that. Mitchell is tiny next to Iginla, how was that not impressive? |
