Eric's no slackass. He's the damn coolest.

BTW, transit looks likely for this party. A route will be posted, along with the directions, the day before the party.

RECONNAISSANCE: COMPLETE

OK Boyz & Girlz, last night some members of the Solace Team took a trip out to our venue for a little recon mission. Armed with a digital camera and a rented minivan (which we put through its paces, BELIEVE me), we were able to put together highly accurate directions to the party site, complete with cumulative mileage readings, and several landmarks along the way. When the directions are posted the day before the party, the pictures of various landmarks will also be posted - just to reassure you that you're on the right path.

As for the site, it's KICKASS, as expected! Believe us, it was challenging to find a spot where we could set up a 30-40 foot wide stage area (those TX Bass Bins take up a LOT of space, plus scaffolding in a 2x4 setup). Some crew members will be heading up to prep the site a day before - level the ground, stuff like that.

As for sound & lighting, the crew at Masterplan tells me that they've got a WIKKID setup for us; we're even going to need a second generator to power all the stuff. . . . . . .

Hope to see y'all out there.... I'm off to continue preparing...

ONLY 2 MORE WEEKS!

Remember kids, if you want to take transit to this event, please let us know ahead of time (via our website) so that we can arrange a shuttle from the nearest transit dropoff.

I also wanted to mention that since the venue's two hours from downtown Vancouver, some of you might find it more convenient ot have a CAR for the trip... well, coincidentally, I work at a car rental company, and for anyone who's interested (and over 21 with a credit card in their name), I can hook it up with a KILLER deal on a car... I'd work it out to be around $50.00 including tax & insurance, unlimited km's, for a 4-5 seater... c'mon, that's only $15-$20 each. . . cheaper that admission to most parties!

what does D.A.R.Y.L. stand for?

hey! last year around this time, a small group of us were bitching about how so many promoters had been corrupted, and were throwing carbon-copy parties and charging $40 minimum for tickets (or you could get your VIP tix for $100.....) anyways, so on less than a week's notice, we threw together the cleverly named "Bush Party"... (i blame that on the fact that we had less than a week)

anyways, this year we have the means to get bigger & better, so we are... still keepin' it real as a free party. we came up with a more original name: Solace. came up with better DJ's. tripled our sound & lighting from last year.... it's gonna be INSANE!!!!

so that's the deal... hope to see y'all there!

this is a *** FREE *** party

hey! just wanted to remind everyone that this is a *** FREE *** party, and though we don't want your money, we *DO* want to see an amazing turnout!

at last calculation, we had over 10,000 watts of sound gear, plus all of our lighting equipment... combine that with some killer DJ's, and the fact that it's FREE, and you've got NO CHOICE but to trek out to the valley for this shindig!

oh yeah, and i work at a car rental company, so if any of you are 21 with a credit card, i can hook it up with cheap car rentals for those interested......

see you there!

sa-weet! The weather was the one thing I was worried about. Now that we have that confirmed, this is a sure thing (or, as our market scamming friend Martha Stewart would say, this is a good thing).

<copied & pasted from another post i made, so read on only if you haven't seen it>

just a reminder, open decks are from 7 until 9:30 (2 and a half hours of train-wreckin' fun!!!)....

oh, and a small update: the sound system consists of over ***10,000 watts*** of yorkville TX series gear!!!!!!! CRAAAAZY! i don't know how we're going to set all this up?!?! but E.S. was correct in the fact that the boys & girls at masterplan have really outdone themselves... an elaborate plethora (is that even in the right context??!?!!?) of scaffolding & trussing with lights & effects suspended from all *OVER*... let's just hope the sound system doesn't knock this all over!! haha....

members of our crew are already enroute to the site as we speak to start prepping.... they'll be up there until the gear arrives saturday morning, and then we'll post directions to you folk around noon on saturday, just before the last of our crew members heads on out!

looking forward to seeing you all there!!
