clearing up the rumors re: Boomtown Van

It came to my attention today that a rumor had been circulating regarding my shop. Before it goes any further I will clear this up once and for all - Boomtown Vancouver is NOT closing, nothing of the sort, we have had a bit of a staff shake-up but this will not affect our customers in anything but a positive manner.

I am resuming my duties as head buyer & store manager, duties i had performed for the entire history of both shops (Victoria and Vancouver) up until about 2 years ago. Expect all the same great music you've found on our shelves since our opening nearly 4 years ago, plus expanded selection in some genres that have been neglected by previous buyers, such as breaks, trance, progressive and hip hop. Also expect more competitive pricing on big-ticket items such as LP's and double 12"s.

Boomtown records has been my life since i opened the Victoria shop at age 20, and as my 30th birthday draws near, i feel it is time to take the reigns and bring our service & selection to the next level. I'm not sure of the source of these rumors, but rest assured nothing could be further from the truth!

On an unrelated note, our web store, boomtownrecords.com, will be closing temporarily for re-structuring.

Linds - don't be intimidated, we're a very friendly bunch. The only thing you have to fear from Boomtown is developing a severe black-crack addiction.

Thanks for the update..the only gossip i've heard lately regarding record stores is that bassix was closing shop or trading owners.
