Ben is a lover, not a fighter. After a youth filled with video games and a white collar classic rock lifestyle, in 1996 this Canadian boy moved from Winnipeg to Victoria, where he was exposed for the first time to electronic production and snowless winters. Caught up in the moment, Ben began selling his guitars to buy turntables and studio gear. When he moved to futuristic Vancouver in 1998 the influence of the city's burgeoning house music scene was dramatic, and before long Ben was circulating finished tracks among the city's DJs. This resulted in Tyler "T-Bone" Stadius using the haunting "Designer Drugs" for his Necessary Pieces 2 compilation on Nordic Trax, and since then Ben's unique production work has continued to push the envelope on standout deep labels such as San Francisco's Context, London's Mosaic and Paris' Telegraph.
Although production work continues - releases this year will include new EPs on Mosaic, Trapez and an album for Telegraph - in 2002 Ben has moved back to Victoria and is spending most of his time working on performance software. Reactions to his laptop/joystick live sets have been overwhelming.
