Sonic 2003 NYE@Lotus, Honey, Milk
New Years Eve Deepen presents:
SONIC 2003 The Future Is Present December 31 2002 The Lotus Sound Lounge, Milk Bar and Honey will converge. One world, one roof, one celebration. A broad spectrum of music, light, dance and delight. In the dawn of our new time, Sonic Nations unite. In the wake of last years' raging success, expectations are riding high for SONIC 2003. True to form deepen delivers. All three venues are rammed with internationally acclaimed DJ's and Producers. A serious selection of musical flavor, the very much-celebrated Sonic sound. The Lotus Sound Lounge, home to Deepen Saturdays for four years running, will feature Deepen resident turntable technicians, Vernon, Tyler Stadius and Jay Tripwire. Over the past year our boys have given Canadian west coast house music worldwide recognition. Vernon's Deepen discs recordings has received international recognition and respect. Both Jay and Tyler have been in demand all over North America and Europe. Trying to pin one of them down for a local set is not easy these days. Having them all together on this fine evening will be sure to please. The Milk Bar celebrates another of the Lotus's four year long success stories. Automatic Tuesdays with Jay- Auto and Matty serve up anything from dark techno influenced drum and bass, to reggae, hip hop, 2-step & breaks. NYE the crew will be in full effect with special guests and mc's to rock it right. Honey Lounge hosted by Cotton, founder of The House Of Venus and arguably one of Vancouver nightlife's most recognized faces, and our very own Ivona Booking. Star of the Queen Bee Revue, Saturday nights New York style cabaret and drag show at Honey. On the decks we have none other than DJ Dickey Doo, this cities hardest working DJ. With three stellar nights in town Dickey needs no introduction, we are honored to have him. Along side Richard we have DJ Leanne, Resident at the Lotus on Friday nights since it's inception, Leanne is playing up a storm of late. Founder of the Rhythm Institute DJ School, and sporting two solid residencies, this sista lives the dream. Finally we have Eric Lewis. Van veteran Eric has been playing in the scene for 7 years. Formerly known as Vitamin E, you may remember him from nights like Tic Tok, Hump, and Electric. Back from his Eastern Hiatus, we expect him to bring the house down in good form. Projex Visuals will transform each room into a fantasy freak fest for the eyes. CD giveaways, cocktails, and free t-shirts all night long. Tix sold out two weeks before the event last year, we anticipate a similar response for Sonic 2003. Pre sale tickets $45.00. More at the door.
