One of the true innovators of UK drum and bass, John B drops into Automatic Jan. 21st for a night of excess. Known for pushing sonic boundaries, John's style encompasses everything from soulful liquid funk to latin be-bop, from hard-edged grinding techno to jazzy sax-driven workouts, all effortlessly worked into a drum and bass framework. His latest projects lean heavily into the world of eighties electro, a sound that he has been pushing since his 1997 lp release "Visons". A true force in the scene, he also owns and operates four seperate labels under the Beta Recordings umbrella, and he's proved that he has what it takes to produce a #1 hit tune with his release of "Up All Night" on Goldie's Metalheadz imprint, a tune which was quite possibly one of the most played tunes over the last 2 years. His new mixed CD "Brainstorm" is already gaining massive praise worldwide for his flawless mixing and selection, so expect a serious show from this constantly in-demand touring DJ, as well as the most up-to-date dubs and white labels.
