rick BRASS MUNK - DEC 15 MOOD RUFF - JAN 13 DEF POETS - JAN 21 MON DEC 9 La Cosa Nostra Productions Proudly Presents "Sound Event" with legendary DMC DJ from the world famous X-Ecutioners!! ROB SWIFT "An amazing display of the extent to which the turntable can be manipulated into a universal instrument." With Rotating Band Members Supernatural,J-Live, DJ Radar and Large Professer. "Artists like Stevie Wonder go in to cut records and they think, "Well, we can get him on drums and him for guitars. My thing is to get people to think, 'Who's gonna play the turntable?'" Rob Swift If the media is the message, then Rob Swift's message comes through loud and clear. More than a genre, more than an exercise in technical prowess, turntablism marks a progressive, evolutionary shift in music making. For Rob Swift, it's just a way of life. By 1992, Rob earned the title of DMC East Coast Champion. Eventually, Swift and a few crewmembers Branched off to form the world famous X-ecutioners crew to pursue their commercial recording careers. Rob's 1999 solo debut, The Ablist (Asphodel) was amind-blowing masterpiece that spawned Rob's reputation. Since 1993, he has worked with an eclectic roster of artists such as Lords of Acid, DJ Logic, Ursula Rucker, Bob James, Herbie Hancock, Scritti Politti, Akinyele, and Fat Joe among the many! Swift also continues to score hi-tech games and television projects (Blue Torch TV). He appeared in a Gap commercial, is featured on the Blue Man Group's upcoming album as well as in the movie, SCRATCH (Palm Pictures). Rob's biggest claim to fame is his work with the X-ecutioners. Their early 2002 release, Built From Scratch (Loud/Sony) hit the Billboard charts at #15 and included a collaboration with Linkin Park that landed "It's Goin' Down" a slot in MTV's daily rotation. The X-ecutioners made TV appearances on "Last Call with Carson Daly," "The Late Show with David Letterman," ESPN, and MTV's "Icon: Aerosmith" tribute. This is one very highly anticipated night for all the hip hop heads... an amzing turntable experience of hip hop jazz and other sick beats . . . presale now availible at Club 7 only 15$ NO S/C!!
